IT Roo Cafe, proclaimed as "The Best Chicken Chop in Town", is located opposite Bei's Pastry (鲍小贝糕点), at the intersection between Jalan Dhoby and Jalan Pahang, adjacent to Tan Hiok Nee Heritage Walk. The cafe came to fame when it was awarded the "Best Chicken Chop in Malaysia" title by The Star newspaper in 2003. Its skill to cook their chicken chop was learnt from the British in the old days and passed down till this day.

IT Roo Cafe's signature dish is crispy chicken chop — a grilled version is also available. The highly recommended beverage is the old-school root beer float with vanilla ice-cream. Apart from western dishes, there are Chinese dishes, fried rice dishes, noodles, sandwiches and desserts.

Their Crispy Chicken Chop is deep-fried till crispy and yet not greasy. Accompanying the golden-fried chicken are potato wedges and coleslaw and with either black pepper or mushroom sauce. The nicely-fried chicken meat is tender and not dry. This is really good.

The grilled version of the Chicken Chop, with similar sides, is meatier, tender and goes well with the mushroom sauce — can select black pepper sauce too.

The "IT ROO Fried Rice" is also highly praised by many customers. The Chinese-style fried rice is cooked with chicken, prawns, egg, onions, spring onions, etc. The dish is nicely-fried and taste good with smoky wok flavour — no wonder this dish is the IT Roo fried rice.

The Hailam Mee, with yellow noodle though bee hoon or kway teow can be opted for, is drenched in a viscous gravy with prawns, squids, lean chicken meat and greens. The savoury sauce has a nice flavour that include garlic, black pepper, etc, and not salty. It is a nice dish to have and recommended by the cafe too.

IT Roo Cafe is probably one of the few places that still serves the old-school root beer float. Topped with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream, the drink is a pleasant dessert-beverage to go for on hot days.

Note that a small dish of peanuts may be served per table as appetiser (RM2) — let the staff know if you don't want it.
