It was the Chinese Lunar New Year season in 2024 and a dragon-theme drone show was put up at Marina Bay, Singapore. It was the first time some 300 drones were assembled to stage a 10-minute performance in the night sky. A large group of drones flying in perfect coordinations was an in-thing in recent years and I was excited to see such performance in Singapore.
I watched the performance on 16 Feb 2024, which started at 9pm — having found a convenient spot near to the Esplanade Theatre and stood there for close to 40 minutes before the show. It was super-crowded on that Friday night but not much of an issue since the drones were flying above Marina Bay.
