Malaysia (马来西亚), the nearest country to Singapore, consists of both Peninsula Malaysia (West Malaysia) and Borneo Malaysia (East Malaysia). West Malaysia is easily accessible from Singapore via land, sea and air, whereas Borneo Malaysia is accessible only by air. While West Malaysia attracts many Singaporeans to Johor (mainly Johor Bahru), Malacca, Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh and Penang, the states of Sarawak and Sabah on Borneo are less visited and waiting to be discovered.
