Muar District (麻坡), in the state of Johor, West Malaysia, is also known as the Royal Town of Johor. It is a popular destination for most Malaysians and Singaporeans, especially for pilgrimage. Apart from numerous Chinese and Indian temples, mosques and churches, the town is also popular for its food and pre-war architectures of Pekan Muar. And street arts have flourished since 2016 — Muar houses one of the largest murals in Malaysia.​
