Explore Pontian, Johor

Pontian (笨珍), a district of Johor, Malaysia, to the west of Johor Bahru is about 1.5 hours by public transport from downtown Johor Bahru. The district is known for its numerous plantations, farms and also Kukup Fishing Village. Pontian Kechil is the district capital and Pekan Nanas (北干那那), the "Pineapple Town", is the second largest town and an important base for pineapple production.

Other than visiting Kukup Village for fresh seafood and stay-over, several farms and plantations in Pontian are opened to public and may offer educational tours too. Both Pontian Kechil and Pekan Nanas are also peaceful towns to explore. Prices of food and goods sold here are also much cheaper than in Johor Bahru.
