Singapore Eat: ToriGO! (鷄の達人) Spring Chicken @ Hillion Mall

ToriGO! (鸡の达人) is located in Basement 1 of Hillion Mall, in Bukit Panjang. The restaurant specialises in a wide range of dishes that have to do with spring chicken, be it in whole or parts of it.

The spring chicken dishes are prepared with different styles of chicken, such as Amakuchi (soy sauce), teriyaki, miso baked, fried, grilled, curry, etc. Want other meats for a change sometimes? They have beef, lamb, salmon and other seafood dishes too.

The Black Pepper Chicken Chop Pasta is served with chicken chop in black pepper sauce and spaghetti in tomato-based sauce. The chicken chop is so tender that it can be torn apart with just a fork and spoon. The spaghetti is nicely-cooked with a nice crunchiness. The pasta dish is hearty and delicious with dominant flavours of black pepper spiciness and sweet-sourish tomato.

The Miso Giant Chicken Leg Udon has a rather big chicken thigh in miso sauce that accompanies thick udon stir-fried with slices of mushroom, carrot and cabbage. The udon is soft and has nice flavours. The chicken thigh (leg) is tender with a savoury flavour. Despite the use of miso, the hearty dish is not salty, but rich in unami flavours.

ToriGo!'s dishes can be quite hearty when the different styles of chicken meat are paired with noodle / rice. I will gun for the whole chicken next.
