Da Dong Roast Duck (大董烤鸭), or Dong Roast Duck (董烧鸭), is a Chinese restaurant located on Level 5 of Jinbao Place Shopping Center in Dongcheng District. The highly-regarded Beijing restaurant brand is well-known for its "non-greasy, crispy skin" modern-style Peking Duck. Da Dong's roasted duck is also recommended by Michelin Guide for both Beijing and Shanghai.
Da Dong Roast Duck and Dong Roast Duck are innovative products of Da Dong. Both differ by one Chinese character, kao (烤) vs shao (烧), and the key difference lies in the seasoning technique. They are must-tries at Da Dong Restaurant.
The classic Da Dong Roast Duck is roasted plain without seasoning, and is characterised by its crispy skin, tender meat, and non-greasy texture. It is Da Dong's signature dish. Dong Roast Duck, inspired by Cantonese roast goose, is marinated with spices, including lemongrass, and a rich braising sauce, emphasising a flavourful taste. It creates a unique and fragrant Cantonese-style roast duck.

The Peking Duck dish, using Da Dong Roast Duck, is known for its "crisp and non-greasiness", or "sū bù nì" (酥不腻) in Mandarin, which sounds similar to "Super Neat" and is thus used in naming the dish. It can be served with a choice of normal-size duck (VIP Selection) or smaller duckling (Roast Suckling Duck).
The Da Dong "Super Neat" VIP Selection (大董 "酥不腻" 嘉宾特选) dish is served with a basket of thin pancakes / wraps that is kept warm over a heater, a bowl of duck soup, condiments (fresh scallions, cucumber, a sweet dark sauce, sugar and garlic paste) and Da Dong's unique hollow, thin-crust sesame buns.

The roasted duck is expertly carved table-side by a skilled chef and presented as pieces of juicy meat with less-fat crisp skin. A piece of duck meat with skin is first served and eaten with a sprinkle of sugar and some garlic paste on its own to enjoy its tenderness with tasty crisp skin — it is named as Duck Skin with Sugar (鸭皮蘸白糖).

The staff will then demonstrate how to create small wraps — Roast Duck Pan Cake Roll (荷叶饼果酱卷葱丝鸭肉) — using the thin-sheet pancake with the roasted duck meat and greens with sweet dark sauce. The Roast Duck with Crispy Sesame Bun (空心烧饼包蒜泥鸭肉) stuffs the thin-crust sesame bun with similar ingredients and garlic paste. The two different ways of eating offer different textures and flavours but the sesame bun has additional flavour of roasty sesame seeds and more crispiness. They are delicious and offers unique experience.
