Mak’s Noodle (麦奀云吞面世家), established since the 1920's, is famous for its wanton noodle. It's first founder, Mak Woon-chi, was crowned Guangzhou’s King of Wonton Noodle, in the 1920's, and his culinary skill was passed on to his son. In 2017, Mak's Noodle was awarded a Michelin Star.

Mak's Noodle has several outlets across Hong Kong and has expanded to China and Thailand — it was once in Singapore too but exited in 2022. Its flagship outlet is in Central, right opposite Tsim Chai Kee Noodle (沾仔记). We visited the outlet on The Peak.

Aside from their signature prawn wanton, their beef brisket and beef tendon are next on the list to go with egg noodle or as standalone dishes. There are pork knuckle, shrimp & pork dumplings, braised fish maw and other dishes too.

Mak's Noodle (麦奀): Menu

The Signature Wanton Noodle (世家云吞面) is served with big prawn wantons on springy, thin egg noodle in flavourful broth. The wanton has fresh crunchy prawns, without minced pork, and wrapped with shrimp roes. It is a simple dish yet flavourful, rich in textures and delicious.

The Beef Brisket & Tendon Noodle (牛腩牛筋面) is served with quite a large amount of beef brisket and beef tendon on similar thin noodle in clear beef broth. The beef brisket are soft and very tender and the tendon are very soft too. This is another delicious dish to go for.

Mak's Noodle's signature prawn wantons, beef brisket and beef tendon are definitely not to be missed.
