Sum Hung Cuisine (深鴻私房菜) is a popular restaurant that specialises in using lychee woods to roast gooses and pigeons. Used to be just one outlet along Fa Yuen Street, Sum Hung splits into two outlets and relocated to Yin Chong Street in Mong Kok. One has restaurant settings, named Sum Hong Cuisine (深鸿私熏鹅馆), serving a wide range of dishes, including roasted delights, seafood, etc, typical of Chinese restaurants. The other is a smaller eatery, name Sum Hung Eatery (深鸿餐饮), serving mainly rice dishes with roasted delights at cheaper prices.

Sum Hong Cuisine (深鸿私熏鹅馆) is located on level 2 & 3 (or 1-2/F in Hong Kong) of Rejoice Court and accessible via a lift. Although located in Rejoice Court, its entrance faces Yin Chong Street.

Sum Hung Cuisine serves Chinese and Cantonese dishes for bigger groups. Aside from roasted delights, including its roasted goose and roasted pigeon, etc, there are various chicken specialty dishes, seafood dishes, and many more.

Sum Hong Cuisine (深鸿私房菜/熏鹅馆): Menu

The Roasted Goose (荔枝柴熏烧鹅) — we had upper quarter as the lower quarter was sold out — is smoked with lychee wood and carries a nice smoky aroma. The tender and juicy goose meat has crispy skin and not much fats under the skin. It is really tasty and delicious.

The whole Roasted Pigeon (荔枝柴熏乳鸽), roasted with lychee wood too, is similarly crispy, tender and tasty. The well-roasted pigeon meat, having different texture from goose meat, is still juicy, quite meaty and not dry. This is definitely must try too.

Sum Hung Eatery (深鸿餐饮) is located towards one end of a row of shops on the opposite side of the same lane, about 60 metres away (see map below). It is a cheaper alternative to the restaurant.

Regardless of which outlet, Sum Hung offers an opportunity to try two of Hong Kong's delicacies — roasted goose and roasted pigeon — at one go.
