Zao Wan Jian Mian (早碗见面) is a newly-opened restaurant located few units from Yi Jian Xiao Mian (一见小面) in Kluang town. The restaurant specialises in Chinese-style noodle dishes and Chinese dumplings.

The restaurant serves a variety of Chinese-style noodle dishes, including braised beef noodle (红烧牛肉面), shredded meat black fungus noodle (木耳肉丝面), tomato & egg noodle (番茄鸡蛋面), pig trotter noodle (猪脚面), etc. There are other dishes and dumplings too.

The Chao Guo Tiao (炒粿条) is not the typical Penang- or Singapore-style fried kway teow. The broad-thin rice noodle is stir-fried with lean pork meat, scrambled egg, carrot strips, bean sprouts and other greens, and added with a sunny-side-up egg. The dish has similar wok aroma and characteristics of char kway teow alright but has its own taste and crunchy textures of the vegetables. It is non-oily and delicious.

The Hong Shao Niu Rou Fen (红烧牛肉粉) — requested for low spiciness — is a flavourful and tasty noodle dish with tender braised beef and Chinese vermicelli. The noodle is soft but with chewy texture. The soup has well-balanced flavours with a number of spices, including ginger, lemongrass, Sichuan peppercorn, red chilies, etc, and fresh spring onions. Expect the dish to be very spicy when served at its normal spiciness level.

The small-size Fried Meat Dumplings (锅贴) are lightly fried with no too-hard fried base. The fresh minced pork filling is tasty with hot juice squirting out on biting. Eat them with the specially-concocted chilli paste for extra flavours.

Note that there are eateries with the same Chinese name "早碗见面" in Singapore, Taiwan and also in Johor Skudai, but they may not be affiliated to one another — their English names are different.
