The Pillohouzzze is a no-frill homestay and yet equipped with necessary amenities for travellers. The friendly owner and his wife keeps the house really clean and tidy.
The Location
The Pillohouzzze is a 3-storey house in the residential estate of Taman Kota Laksamana. It is about 500 metres from Dutch Square (historical site) and just 300 metres, or 5 minutes' walk, to the popular Jonker Street. Apart from traditional kopitiams and cafes in the old town, there are also great food options around Taman Kota Laksamana.
Staying outside the old town is also much quieter — away from the dins of weekend crowds and loud music blasting from Melaka's rickshaws way past midnight.
The Rooms
The twin room has two single beds with a bedside table, a table lamp and clothes hangers. The rooms are very clean.
A single room has the same items as the twin room except that it has just one bed.
The single, twin and triple rooms will use shared bathrooms. The quadruple room will have its own private bathroom. The shared bathroom (for twin room) is spacious and very clean.
WiFi reception in the rooms are very good. No outside footwear allowed inside the house also ensure its cleanliness.
The Amenities
The communal area on the ground floor is quite spacious with tables and chairs for dining use — no food is allowed in the rooms to ensure cleanliness.
A wooden sofa set takes up the space opposite the dining area, providing more space for interactions between travellers.
The kitchen is just besides the communal area. Except for essentials, there are no clutters.
Instant coffee and tea sachets are available for free. It is always a good idea to chat with other travellers over a cup of coffee or tea than to coop up in the room.
WiFi is also available in the communal area.
