Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Noodle Rice (香港玫瑰油鸡面饭) is one of the many food stalls in the foodcourt on the 4th floor of Beauty World Centre. It used to occupy a stall in one corner (#04-51) but moved to its current one (#04-48) in recent years.
This soya sauce chicken noodle rice stall is lesser known to many people but for people who have tried it, they will definitely go back again — including me. During lunch time, the stall is never without a queue, so either go early or expect to queue.
I usually order the soya sauce chicken noodle added with barbecue pork. Both the chicken and barbecue pork are tender and juicy. The springy noodle is accompanied by a light sauce with distinctive rose flavour.
Another way to have the soya sauce chicken is with chicken rice. Gather a group of 6~8 pax and order a whole chicken. It is the best way to try different parts of the smooth and tender chicken.
Another of my favourite here is the shrimp dumplings soup or with dry-style noodle. It usually comes with 3 pieces of big shrimp dumplings, each wrapped with generous amount of whole shrimps and minced meat. Savour the crunchiness on each bite!
The shrimp dumplings are so good that some people are buying them directly from the stall to cook themselves.
