Singapore Eat: Tanglin Crispy Curry Puff Original (东陵酥皮咖喱角正宗老店) @ Hong Lim Food Centre

There are two "Tanglin Crispy Curry Puff" stalls on the second level of Hong Lim Market & Food Centre, Chinatown. Both are owned separately by the two sons of the original creator of the curry puffs. This post is on the stall named "Tanglin Crispy Curry Puff Original" in the corner.


Tanglin Crispy Curry Puff Original (东陵酥皮咖喱角正宗老店) serves handmade, fat curry puffs. There are three flavours: potato chicken with egg, potato sardine with egg and fish otah.

All the curry puffs has crispy, layered thin crust. The Potato Chicken with Egg Puff (马铃薯鸡肉) has a filling of potato curry, chicken meat and a slice of hard-boiled egg. It is mildly spicy with nice flavours and nice to have as a snack.

The Potato Sardine with Egg Puff (马铃薯沙丁) is similar to the Potato Chicken with Egg Puff except that sardine meat is used instead of chicken meat. This puff is unlike any other sardine puffs that uses mainly sardine cooked with shallots. It is also mildly spicy.

The Fish Otah Puff (乌达鱼) is stuffed fully with fish otah (or otak-otak) as its filling. It is sweet-spicy, spicier than the other puffs and very good too.

Tanglin Crispy Curry Puff Original's curry puffs are really nice and great as light snacks even after a meal.
