Tang SanZang Desserts House (糖三藏经典糖水馆) serves classic desserts and a list of rice / noodle dishes. The "Tang" in the shop's name means "sugar" in Chinese, but "糖三藏" has the same pronunciation as the Tang Dynasty Buddhist monk, named "唐三藏", in the classic novel "Journey to the West" (西游记).
The desserts are the main reason to step into a dessert house. There are traditional Chinese desserts and also unconventional ones, such as shaved ice, ice kacang, etc, and also Malaysia's popular cendol.
Top-right: The Longan Pudding (爆浆珍珠龙眼布丁) is topped with fresh longan fruits, jellies and popping pearls. It is a cold refreshing dessert with the pleasure of popped pearls releasing fruity juices.
Bottom-left: Their new series of gui ling gao (龟苓膏) dessert are cute. The small dish of Gui Ling Gao with Pearls has a turtle-shape herbal jelly dribbled with brown sugar syrup and pearls of different flavours adding firm and bouncy textures.
Bottom-right: The Snow Fungus with Snow Pear (银耳雪梨) is a great option in place of an iced drink. The dessert has white fungus, pear, wolf berries and longans. It can be served either hot or cold. Other than low sweetness, the dessert has nutritional values too.
Aside from desserts, main dishes with rice / noodle are available on the menu too. There are pancakes, pastries and light snacks too.
The signature SanZang Minced Pork Noodle (三藏肉酱金旦面) — has option with rice too — is served with minced meat sauce, spring onions, a braised hard-boiled egg and cucumber slices on curly cintan noodle. The minced meat sauce is not salty and gives the noodle a nice flavour. The springy noodle and bouncy braised egg gives the dish a nice texture too.
The Thai's Ka Prao Minced Pork Rice (泰式打抛猪肉饭) — has option with noodle too — is served with Thai-style basil minced pork on white rice with a sunny-side-up egg and cucumber slices. The dish is mild-spicy with nice aroma of basil leaves.
Tang SanZang Desserts has two outlets in Batu Pahat, Desserts House is located in Taman Banang and another outlet, named Desserts Hall, is in Taman Sri Jaya. A third outlet, named TSZ Desserts, was opened in Kluang in 2024.
