Tim Ho Wan (添好运) is a well-known restaurant chain for serving award-winning Hong Kong-style dim sum. Established in Hong Kong in 2009, the One-Star Michelin-accoladed restaurant has expanded beyond Hong Kong to 10 other regions, including mainland China, Macau, Vietnam, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore also, etc, and as far as USA. The flagship outlet is in Sham Shui Po, near the edge of Mong Kok, Hong Kong.

Tim Ho Wan's dim sum dishes are definitely must-tries, especially their signature BBQ Pork and Baked BBQ Pork Buns. There are a number of steamed / pan-fried / fried dim sum dishes, rice rolls, congee / rice / noodle dishes, soups, vegetables and dessert. The dishes are best to go with a pot of tea. Note that Tim Ho Wan's menus may be different in different regions.

The Signature Baked BBQ Pork Buns (招牌酥皮焗叉烧包), 3 pieces per order, have soft, crispy golden crusts with thin skins and taste great with its barbecued pork (char siew) fillings in red, sweet-savoury char siew sauce.

The Shrimp Dumplings (晶莹鲜虾饺) have whole big prawns in transparent, thin crystal skins. The fresh prawns are crunchy and pretty meaty. It has that satisfying crunchiness when munched on.
The Pork Liver Rice Rolls (黄沙猪润肠) has cuts of tender pig liver rolled in thin and soft cheung fun / rice rolls with spring onions and dribbled with a light oil-sauce. In Hong Kong, pig liver is referred to as "猪润" instead of "猪肝" for auspicious reason due to the inelegant pronunciation of "肝" in Cantonese.

The Steamed Phoenix Claws with Black Bean Sauce (豉汁蒸凤爪) — chicken feet are typically, and elegantly, called "phoenix claws" — are quite big, nicely-fried and well-braised with light savoury flavours and easy to separate the skins from bones in the mouth.

There are many dim sum dishes and other dishes to try at Tim Ho Wan in Hong Kong. Of course, there are Tim Ho Wan outlets in Singapore, probably with slightly different menu, to satisfy cravings for their dim sum.
