Jordan Hong Kong Restaurant (佐敦冰室) is a Hong Kong-style restaurant chain that aims to serve authentic and innovative Hong Kong-style cuisine by blending tradition with innovation. With its flagship in Kuala Lumpur, the restaurant expanded to Johor Bahru by opening a branch in Sutera Mall in November 2023.
Jordan HK Restaurant has a number of signature dishes that provide first-timers some great options to start. Most of Hong Kong's specialty and traditional dishes, including typical Cantonese cuisines, can be found on their thick menu.
The Signature Ice Bucket HK Milk Tea (招牌冰镇奶茶) is a great way to have cold, traditional Hong Kong milk tea without it being diluted by the melting ice. The creamy, smooth milk tea has a distinctive black tea fragrance with mellow evaporated milk flavour. This milk tea is much nicer than most Hong Kong-style milk tea that I have tried.
The Jordan's Char Siew Rice (佐敦黯然销魂饭) is served with slices of lean-fat barbecue pork, sprinkled with fried garlic bits and scallion, greens, crispy fried pork lard and a poached egg on white rice. The char siew is very tender with crisp outer skin and enhanced with nice flavours of the garlic bits and dark sauce. The soft poached egg and dark sauce smoothened and flavoured the rice. This dish is delicious and definitely must try.
Jordan HK Restaurant is a great find in Sutera Mall and a great place to go for authentic Hong Kong delicacies in Johor Bahru. I will aim to complete the list of signature dishes.
