A pastry stall in Bukit Timah Interim Hawker Centre goes by the name “Dough”. It was previously known as “Juz Bake” in Bukit Timah Food Centre before moving to its current location and started using the new name.
For a small stall, it sells quite a wide varieties of dough-baked items, such as breads, pastries, etc — especially French pastries, which are the stall’s hot-sellers.
The shio pan, a Japanese salted butter roll, has crisp outer skin and soft inside. It tastes mild-savoury with a buttery aroma and a really nice pastry to chew on with unsweetened coffee.
Sold in boxes of 3, Dough’s cupcakes are stuffed with custard filling and topped with sugar icing. Although the paper cups say “Sweet Dessert”, they are just mildly sweet and a great choice as dessert.
The colourful tiger skin cake is attractive and has multiple flavours. It does not have too much cream and again not too sweet.
I have visited Dough twice and is amazed by the pleasant flavours of the pastries with low sweetness levels. Will go back for more.
