Singapore Eat: Hong Kee Beef Noodle (桐记牛肉粿条) @ Amoy Street Food Centre

Hong Kee Beef Noodle (桐记牛肉粿条) has been selling its signature Hainan beef noodle for over 60+ years. Located in Amoy Street Food Centre, Chinatown, the stall has two other street names "Tanglin Koek Road Cuppage Centre" on its signboard — it started its business along Tanglin Koek Road, then moved to Cuppage Centre and now in Amoy Street. Hong Kee Beef Noodle is also recommended by Singapore Michelin Guide from 2016 to 2022.

Hong Kee's Hainan Beef Noodle (海南牛肉粉) can be served with different configurations of dry / soup with desired noodle type and any beef ingredients or a mix of all.


The dry-style beef noodle, with selected thin hor fun, and mixed beef ingredients is served with beef brisket, beef shank, sliced lean beef, a beef ball and cow's stomach in a delightful sauce and garnished with pickled mustard, crispy fried shallots and coriander. A bowl of flavourful broth and sour-spicy chilli sauce accompany the noodle dish. The beefy meats are very tender, juicy and smoothened by the slight-viscous, savoury sauce. Amazingly, the cow's stomach breaks apart on biting, not chewy at all — I would have missed it if I had ordered noodle with only beef meat. This is very delicious indeed.

I will want to try Hong Kee's beef noodle in soup and with desired beef ingredients, or all-mix again, on the next visit. I wonder if beef tendon is available since it is not in the mixed beef noodle.
