Singapore Eat: LaiFaBa Authentic Wood-Fired Roast & Noodles (来发吧) @ Bukit Batok

LaiFaBa Authentic Wood-Fired Roast & Noodles (来发吧) is located in Prestige Centre in Bukit Batok Crescent, an industrial estate. The restaurant is well-known for its Bu Jian Tian char siew (不见天叉烧) or barbecue pork.

LaiFaBa has two signature dishes: Signature Rice and dry-tossed Signature Noodle. Both are served with their Bu Jian Tian char siew, fried wanton, kailan vegetable and wanton soup, but the eggs are different. The soup is prepared from pig bones and scallops.

“Bu Jian Tian (不见天)” refers to the armpit meat of a pig’s front leg that “don’t see the sky”. Regardless of which signature dish chosen, the type of cuts of the Bu Jian Tian char siew can be selected to be lean, mixed or fatty. Go for “fatty” if you want it to “melt in your mouth”, “lean” for tenderness or “mixed” to enjoy both wonderfulness.

Apart from barbecue pork, there are roasted pork and roasted duck as side dishes or combination platters. Shrimp dumplings egg noodle (虾饺面) and other side dishes are available too.

The Signature Wanton Noodle has lava egg.

The signature Rice has a fried egg instead of lava egg.

The Bu Jian Tian char siew is aromatic, tasty and very tender. And you will probably want to have more of the meat after the first bite.

LaiFaBa has an interesting way to present their Nanyang traditional kopi-o. It is served in a double wall coffee glass with a Pocky biscuit stick.

It is expensive? But you will want to go back again, won't you?
