Nan Yang Dao (南洋岛) is a Nanyang kopitiam-chain with a number of outlets across Singapore. The kopitiam brand serves mainly Malaysia delights and aims to bring the best flavours of Malaysia to Singapore residents. In the west side of Singapore, there is an outlet in Hillion Mall in Bukit Panjang and two outlets were opened in Plantation Plaza (Tengah) in November 2024 and in West Mall (Bukit Batok) in April 2025.

As expected of a Nanyang kopitiam, Nan Yang Dao serves a wide range of Malaysian favourites, including nasi lemak, mee siam, curry mee / rice, fried rice, many varieties of noodle dishes, rojak, traditional pastries, desserts, etc. Their "Top 10 Must Try" menu is a good way to pick their best dishes.

The Penang Fried Kway Teow (槟城炒粿条), a hot-seller of Nan Yang Dao, is a classic Penang dish that uses flat rice noodle to stir-fried with big prawns, slices of Chinese sausage, slices of fish cake, egg, bean sprouts and spring onions. The fried kway teow is accompanied by sambal chilli that adds tastiness and spiciness to the light savoury dish. It is indeed nice-tasting.

The Puff Pastry Egg Tart (酥皮蛋挞) is the thicker type — typical of Malaysia's egg tarts — with egg custard in flaky layered pastry. The egg tart has nice flavour and mild sweet.

The Bear Iced Coffee (小熊冰镇咖啡冰) is a pretty big glass (in the shape of a jar) of iced kopi topped with an ice bear, which is made from coffee, not any sweet substance. Melting of the ice bear will not increase the sweetness level of the iced kopi. Apart from having cold kopi, have a little fun playing with the bear — just don't spill the coffee.

The Lemon Fried Chicken Chop Rice (柠檬炸鸡扒饭) has fried chicken cutlet with white rice sprinkled with white sesame seeds. The tender and crispy chicken is dribbled with a pleasant sweet-lemony sauce without the sharp acidity of lemon juice. The dish has another option with fried rice for more flavours.

The Signature Nasi Lemak (招牌椰浆饭) is served with typical nasi lemak ingredients, such as coconut-milk-flavoured rice, sunny-side-up egg, peanut, fried anchovies, cucumber, spicy sambal chilli and added with fried chicken meat. The spice-marinated and tasty chicken meat has a strong flavour and pairs well with the light-flavour nasi lemak.

As a kopitiam serving Malaysian cuisines at reasonable prices, Nan Yang Dao is a great place to go for traditional food in Singapore without having to cross the border to Malaysia.
