Singapore Eat: Sizzling Black Pepper Wrap (喜滋滋) @ Tengah

Sizzling Black Pepper Wrap (喜滋滋) is a new fast food outlet located inside the temporary Tengah Bus Interchange. The shop is small with just three tables for dining-in but most customers will take-away. The best time to dine-in will be on weekdays.
Sizzling's wraps, or "cheesy meat rolls" as they called it, are available in two sizes: small and large. The large-size wrap is about 6 inches long. For the fillings, there are different flavours of beef or chicken, and also a unique fried fish with tartar roll.
The Signature Black Pepper Beef Wrap (黑胡椒肉卷) has beef slices in black pepper sauce enclosed in a thin wrap with cheese and fresh greens. Before serving the wrap, it is heated up to melt the cheese and give the wrap a touch of crispiness. The tender beef slices has black peppery flavour, not spicy, and with cheesy flavour of the stringy soft cheese. The crispy wrap adds crunchy texture to the mix. It is nice and delicious.
The Mala Chicken Wrap (麻辣鸡肉卷) has chicken meat in mala sauce and similarly in nicely-toasted thin wrap with stringy cheese and greens. Crispy wrap, tender chicken and spicy, tasty mala sauce make a this another delicious cheesy roll.
The Fried Fish with Tartar Sauce Wrap (金黄塔塔炸鱼卷) — available with mayonnaise too — has fried fish fillet and fresh greens in tartar sauce with melted cheese. The toasted wrap with crispy fish fillet is flavoured entirely by the savoury tartar sauce and soft cheese and is delicious.
For snack, the Sizzling Fries (滋滋脆薯) are nicely-fried with crispiness on the outside and yet still soft inside. The accompanying seasoning is a mixture of herbs, chilli flakes, etc, that adds tasty flavours to the fries with mellow spiciness.
It will be cheaper to get a set meal that includes a selection of wrap, crispy Sizzling Fries and one of the jasmine green teas (passion fruit, purple grape or green grape) with coconut jellies to give some chewy bites.
Although Sizzling is setup with few tables and most of its customers will take-away the food, it is better to consume the freshly-made wraps and fries in the outlet before the toasted wraps, with melted cheese, turn cold. We prefer to dine-in and enjoy the hot wraps and crispy fries.
