Whampoa Soya Bean (黄埔豆花) is a well-known name in Singapore. It is Michelin Guide recommended for its soya bean and glass jelly. Whampoa Soya Bean has opened a new stall in Bukit Timah Interim Hawker Centre to serve primarily soya beancurd, soya bean milk, glass jelly and a range of variants.

The cold Glass Jelly Soya Bean (仙草豆花水) is not overly sweet and the small bits of glass jelly offer some chewing pleasure. It is a healthier alternative to caffeinated beverages.

Top-left: The finely-ground Soya Beancurd (豆花), or soya pudding, is silky-smooth and ultra-soft. The traditional dessert is usually served hot and not too sweet.
Top-right: The Yam Ball Beancurd (豆花芋圆) has large colourful yam balls that are mild-sweet, soft and chewy with pleasant natural flavours. The yam balls add more texture to the beancurd for different taste experience.
Bottom-left: The 3 Treasure (三宝) has hot soya beancurd as its base and topped with ginkgo, red beans and lotus seeds. It is one dessert with 3 additional flavours to go with the soya beancurd.
Bottom-right: The Longan Glass Jelly (仙草龙眼) has a whole piece of cold glass jelly as its base and added with sweet longan flesh. The dessert is mild-sweet and refreshing.

Whampoa Soya Bean's hot soya beancurd and cold glass jelly, and their variants, are great desserts to go for after a meal. Go for soya bean milk instead of soft drinks.
