Jia Jia Bak Kuet Teh (家家肉骨茶) is located in Taman Sentosa of Tangkak in northern Johor, opposite Kian Hoon Kiong Temple (茧云宫). The restaurant serves traditional bak kut teh (肉骨茶), either dry-style or in soup, Sauce pork Leg (焖猪脚) and various other side dishes.

The single-portion Bak Kut Teh (肉骨茶汤), in soup, with a mix of pork ribs and pig offals, has pork ribs, few slices of not-too-fatty pork belly meat, pig intestines, stomach and liver boiled in a savoury-herbal soup with sheets of bean stick, mouth mushrooms, and lettuce. The soup has a pleasant taste without a strong herbal taste.

The Bak Kut Teh is a must-try dish, and great to go with fried dough and yam rice. And a small dish of braised chicken feet is not too much to add-on.

The well-braised Chicken Feet (凤爪) is served in thick, sweet dark sauce, oil and sprinkled with fresh garlic and green chilies. Unlike other red-sauce braised chicken feet dishes that I have tried before, this dish offers a different taste experience. And the skins separate from the bones easily.

Jia Jia Bak Kuet Teh is a great choice for breakfast and brunch. Expect the restaurant to be crowded in the morning and on weekends.
