Ah Ma TeoChew Kuih (阿嬷潮州糕), with several cafes in Johor Bahru, are great places to have traditional Teochew kuihs (bite-size cakes, dumplings, biscuits or pastries), special coffees and popular Malaysian dishes.
Apart from dining-in at the cafes, Ah Ma's traditional kuihs, rice dumplings (seasonal) and condiments can be purchased from kiosks outside the cafes, and also in certain shopping malls, as take-aways.

All traditional kuihs, such as Nyonya kuihs, yam cake, ang ku kuihs, chai kuihs (菜板), rice kuih, etc, are available at the kiosks. There are fried puffs, gula Melaka steam cake and orange butter cakes too.

The traditional kuihs are sold either as 5 pieces of single flavour in a box or mix-and-match to have 5 pieces out of the six types available. When purchasing the blue pulut tai tai (蓝花饭), a pack of Ah Ma's kaya will be included for eating with the kuih. Ang ku kuih with different fillings (minced peanut, mung bean paste or grated coconut) and fried puffs, such as red bean puff, curry puff, kaya puff, etc, are also available.

The Teochew peach-shape rice kuih (潮州饭桃粿) and yam cake (潮州芋头桃粿) are nice for breakfast or as light meal. The orange butter cake (鲜橙牛油蛋糕) has a mellow tangy aroma and flavour. The gula Melaka steam cake (马来糕) is soft, spongy and has a nice gula Melaka (palm sugar) aroma, and not too sweet.

Aside from traditional pastries, Ah Ma's handmade chilli sauce, sambal chilli, fried shallots and kaya (coconut jam) are available for sales in jars. Their handmade Ah Ma kaya is viscous and mild-sweet. The sambal chilli has nice flavours and just-nice spiciness (for me).

Other than at the cafes, Ah Ma Teochew Kuih has 3 standalone kiosks that can be found in Paradigm Mall, KSL City Mall and AEON Bukit Indah.
