Fam Cafe, located in Taman Sutera Utama of Skudai, is a popular brunch spot near to Sutera Mall. It is known for its cozy, forest-themed interior and a diverse menu that blends Western and Asian cuisine. The name "Fam" reflects their mission to provide a welcoming space for friends and family gatherings, operating under the tagline, "Always tastes better with FAM".

Fam Cafe used to have a branch, named "80000 by Fam", along Tan Hiok Nee Heritage Walk — it was where I first got to know about the cafe.

Fam Cafe serves big breakfast sets as their signatures. There is a list of rice bowl and pasta dishes, some are infused with local delights. Other than main dishes, they have a series of soufflés and croffles too, along with a long list of refreshing beverages.

The Malaysian-style Rendang Lover is a rice dish, with blue butterfly-pea flavoured rice covered by an omelette and surrounded by fried chicken meat and crispy hash browns in mild-spicy rendang curry sauce. The fried chicken meat is very tender with no hard or over-fried parts. It is a great dish that is really must try. Their hot Signature Koffee, which is traditional Nanyang milk coffee, has a nice aroma and smooth taste.

The Nanyang-style Iced Signature Koffee uses traditional coffee that is roasted with sugar and margarine. The drink is topped with a pinch of cocoa powder on the milk froth and has a nice coffee flavour with a mild bitterness that is not overpowered by milk and not overly sweet too. It has similar smooth taste as the hot version, and is very welcoming on hot days.

The Cat Bowl is a rice dish served with fried salmon, sweet corn kernels, wakamme (a type of edible seaweed), dun pea, tobiko (flying fish roe) and a poached egg. The salmon is tender in a sweet sauce and the sweet corn kernels and wakamme adds crunchiness to the rice. Stir the rice well with the poached egg and it is a delicious dish. Be a cat, eat the salmon.

Thunder Pesto is a pesto pasta dish — similar in concept to Hakka-style "thunder tea" rice (擂茶) — where greenish pesto sauce is added to pasta and topped with parmesan cheese. The pasta is accompanied by lightly-fried smoked duck meat. The pasta is well-made without having too much sauce and the smoked duck is ultra-best! The slices of smoked duck meat are soft, juicy and very tender.
