JB Eat: Niu Mo Wang (牛魔王牛肉面) Beef Noodles @ Taman Sentosa

I found another delicious beef noodle in Johor!

Niu Mo Wang Beef Noodles (牛魔王牛肉面) is located diagonally opposite Plaza Sentosa, in Taman Sentosa, Johor Bahru. It is a small shop selling delicious Chinese-style beef noodles.

Niu Mo Wang (牛魔王牛肉面)

Niu Mo Wang's beef noodle is a traditional specialty of Guizhou, China, using high-quality beef and the clear broth is prepared by boiling cattle bones that contain rich bone marrow.

There are several quick options for beef noodles on the menu where diners can choose to have just braised beef, beef brisket, fresh beef cuts, tripes, tendons or mixture of two or three of them. The noodles can be either soup-based or as dried. Other than the original clear broth (原汤), there is also the pickled-pepper (泡椒) version for some sour-spicy kicks.

Diners can also customise their preferred beef noodles. Apart from choosing the desired types of noodle, all the beefy ingredients, fried eggs, soy eggs, tofu, beef balls and pork balls can also be added on separately. Oh yes, they serve pork mixed-sauce noodle (猪肉杂酱面) too.

My first beef noodle at Niu Mo Wang is with braised beef, tripes and tendons in original broth and handmade noodles. The broth is full of original beefy flavours added with coriander flavours. The beef noodle dish is delicious with tender braised beef, super-soft tendons and soft tripes. And I downed all the aromatic and flavourful soup.

The beef brisket noodle soup (原汤牛腩面) is also a great option without the tendons and tripes. And the dipping sauce is self-service, get it at a table near the entrance. The tasty chilli sauce is not too spicy and adds more flavours to the meat. Niu Mo Wang's crunchy pickled radish is a hot favourite among diners and a new experience to eat it with the beef noodles.

The dried beef noodle with thick vermicelli (and braised beef, tripes and tendons again) comes in a dark sauce with light flavour and topped with peanuts, which gives the dried noodle version a different taste experience. I really love beef noodles.

I will want to try the pickled-pepper version next time but I am worried about the spiciness level — pickled-pepper's spiciness is something to behold, at least for me. I believe they have the tomato-based soup version (酸汤粉面) too, which is not on the menu. Well, I will be back to try all of them.
