One of the recent changes in Kluang District, Johor, is the commissioning of the new Kluang (Railway) Station and all railway operations have since moved to the new station. The old Kluang Station will be preserved as a heritage building and serve as a new attraction for tourists.

There is no admission fee to enter the old station — as of 1st June 2025.

It is a good opportunity to check out the historical railway station and to pose for photos with backdrops of a rustic train platform and railway tracks.

The old station is not very big and probably takes about 10 minutes to explore.

Perhaps, the greater attraction here for most people may be the renowned (Original) Kluang Rail Coffee that is housed inside the old station since 1938. The coffee shop is recorded in the Malaysia Book of Records as the oldest railway kopitiam in Malaysia. It serves a wide variety of breads and buns, selected local delights and a long list of beverages.

The new Kluang Station is located right besides the old station and accessible from its own entrance a short walk down the road. A walkway between the two stations seemed to have been constructed but is not connecting them yet (as of 1st June 2025).
However, the trains that call at the new station are still the older trains, not the newer and faster Electric Train Service (ETS) trains — expected to be "completed" by August 2025.

Aside from Kluang Coffee Powder Factory and street arts in Kluang, Old Kluang Station offers a new spot for some rustic photographs and have breakfast at the oldest railway kopitiam — avoid weekend mornings.
