Kluang Eat: Hailam Toast 1935 (海南土司坊)

Hailam Toast 1935, a kopitiam chain, has a mission to introduce Kluang local coffee and Malaysian delights to the mass market around Malaysia. The setup in Kluang, located along Jalan Lambak, is the flagship.

One of Hailam Toast's signature items is none other than its Hailam (or Hainanese) traditional toasts and Nanyang coffee.

First time to Hailam Toast, I went for their signature Hainanese chicken chop with local Kluang kopi-O. The chicken chop is served with fries, salad and a Hainanese-style sauce — it has green peas in it. The tender chicken chop is nicely-fried and goes well with the tomato-based sauce. Nice and not too heavy for breakfast.

There are still a lot of items on the menu and I will be back again on the next trip to Kluang to try other food. And also to take photos of their murals — I didn't take those photos on the last visit because the tables in front of the murals were occupied.
