Okid Kopitiam (胡姬茶餐室) is a coffee shop that serves traditional coffee and a number of delectable dishes. The popular kopitiam is located along Jalan Tambatan and within walking distance from Sri Lanang Bus Terminal.
"Okid" is Malay for "orchid". The kopitiam is rather small with few tables but it has 2 shop units. The second unit has a pale signboard and consists of just tables and seats and will open or close depending on the number of customers. Okid Kopitiam offers a wide range of bread, including traditional breads, buns, oat-breads, croissants, burgers, etc, a number of noodle dishes, curry chicken dishes, fried rice dishes, nasi lemak, western food, etc.
The Roti Bakar Butter-Kaya (traditional toasts) is toasted till crispy on one side and retained its softness on the other side. It has sufficient amount of sweet kaya and savoury butter to give nice flavours to the toasts without making it too sinful.
The signature Laksa Okid (胡姬叻沙) has a soupy laksa broth that is easy to drink, bursting with flavours but spicy. There are tons of laksa ingredients, including a fishball, fish cake slices, dried tofu puff, dried tofu, tofu skin, fried wanton (meat dumpling), vegetable roll, quarter of a hard-boil egg, etc, and garnished with fried shallot, chopped coriander and spring onion. This delicious dish is a must to try.
The Mee Sedap Ayam Kering (干捞鸡面) is served using dry-style mee sedap (a brand of instant noodle of Indonesia) and added with similar laksa ingredients as Laksa Okid plus shredded chicken. This dish is full of ingredients, tasty, spicy and super delicious.
Dining at Okid Kopitiam is really enjoyable with friendly lady boss and staff and delicious dishes at cheap prices. There are more dishes to go for.

From JB Sentral or Larkin Sentral, take myBAS T10 to Kota Tinggi and alight at the bus-stop near the kopitiam, or walk over from Sri Lanang Bus Terminal.
