Uncle Lee's Confectionery (李叔叔面包西果店) is a popular confectionery located along Jalan Pisang in Kampong Glam. The shop serves a number of old-school cakes, including kaya-pandan cake, durian cake, banana cake, etc, and buttercream cake with selections of toppings and flavours, etc, cookies and custard puffs. Each cake is about 6 inches in diameter.

Uncle Lee's highly-recommended Kaya Cake emits a nice pandan-coconut aroma when the box is opened. The 6-inch cake is sandwiched with fluffy pandan-flavoured cake between layers of pandan kaya, which has soft jelly-like texture. Overall, the cake has a nice aroma, mildly sweet and non-cloying. Half a cake can be finished without realising it.

Note: It is advisable to order the cake online or go to the shop as early as possible to buy it. The popular kaya cake usually sold out fast, even on weekdays.

The Peanut Buttercream Cake, with vanilla flavour, has soft fluffy cake coated with a layer of light vanilla-flavoured buttercream and topped with crunchy crushed peanuts. The cake has a nice vanilla-peanut aroma, very low sweetness too and the light cream does not give a cloying aftertaste. This is a must to try too.
